More about the center

The Austin Geriatric Center, a 501-c-3 non-profit organization, is the founder and operator of the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center (RBJ). The mission of the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center is to provide an affordable home for seniors in a safe, supportive community, where they can thrive and age in place with dignity. The vision of the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center is to increase the amount of affordable housing available to seniors.

The current RBJ tower has 250 units. In keeping with our vision, The Austin Geriatric Center is currently building a new apartment community adjacent to the RBJ tower which will house an additional 250 residents. As the new complex nears the end of construction, RBJ will renovate the current tower. At the end of this ambitious project, the Austin Geriatric Center will have doubled in size and be able to offer 500 affordable apartments on beautiful Town Lake.
